Delivery options & eligibility
Match customer destinations to suitable delivery options before an order is accepted.
Offer the right option before checkout.
A postcode alone does not establish delivery suitability. Packed dimensions, product restrictions, order value, available capacity and required handling also shape the service.
The delivery configuration should make the available choices understandable and stop unsuitable options being offered. Changes to rates or service areas need a controlled review.
A clear operational workflow.
Agree the rules, give each step an owner, and make exceptions visible.
What we establish together.
- Postcode rules and any excluded or separately priced destinations.
- Product dimensions, weights and handling categories.
- Order thresholds, charges and capacity limits.
- A process for reviewing an address or product that cannot be automatically classified.
A basket containing a small tool and a large paving product should not be offered the small-parcel price simply because one item is parcel-compatible. The rule must evaluate the whole order or explicitly support a split.
This example explains the workflow; it is not a customer case study or a performance claim.
Your questions, answered.
Can delivery prices vary by postcode?
Yes. The agreed configuration can reflect relevant geographic charges and service availability.
Can customers collect instead?
Click & collect can be offered where the selected branch and order are eligible.
Can some products be collection-only?
Yes. Product-level fulfilment restrictions can prevent unsuitable delivery promises.
Are delivery time slots guaranteed?
Only the contracted service and confirmed availability determine the commitment. A displayed preference is not automatically a guarantee.
What happens if an order has mixed product types?
The rules should either offer a suitable combined method, an explicitly priced split, or a reviewed alternative.

Delivery availability needs more than a distance from the store. A small item and a heavy load may require different vehicles, preparation time and handling. Opening hours, order cut-offs and stock location also affect whether a fast local option is practical.
We establish those rules before launch and connect them to checkout. Instant or one-day delivery appears where the agreed service can support it. When it cannot, the customer should see the suitable alternative before paying rather than discover the limitation after placing an order.
Your systems can be part of the plan.
Explore platform-specific connection routes, supported data and the checks we make before launch. If your system is not listed, we can assess its API, connector or export options.
